Joy in the Journey

Some people believe that religion ought to be somber and grim.  In the presence of the holy, some consider a fearsome scowl to be the appropriate face to wear.

Paul did not agree.  He reveled in his new found redemption.  Forgiveness made him glad.  Fellowship with like-minded believers triggered laughter and affection.  It is true, Paul suffered hardship.  When the church came into being at Philippi, there was plenty of opposition.  But for Paul, joy was the hallmark of new life.  The sins of the past are forgiven.  The present is time to welcome the company of a loving God.  The future is assured.

There is joy in the journey.

This morning, we want to experience that joy together.  Enter into the worship.  Open your heart in prayerful gratitude.  Be ready to learn and grow.

We are partners in the Gospel.  The Good News.

Join us this Sunday, May 16, 2010 as we begin this new series.
